About UMI SUSHI & SEAFOOD BUFFET

UMI SUSHI & SEAFOOD BUFFET is a chinese buffet in Houston, Texas. It is listed at 11681 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077, which places it among the local businesses of Houston that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Houston; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Texas are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–9:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (346) 374-7947. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, umibuffet.com.

Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 5,011 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded chinese buffets in Houston.

Houston is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Houston follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

They advertise lobsters and other sea food. We came with a group of 17 and only 1 of us got to try the lobster and crab and snail. Seem like they only bring out the seafood once every hour. I don’t recommend this place.

To me? The only great tasting food was the watermelon 🍉. Lamp chops was bunk. Poorly cooked and presentation was horrible. Mac and cheese looks horrible! Picture is at the bottom. Not enough meats or choices of food! The dessert consiste of 4 cakes and 2 cheese cakes.. The tea was good! TikTok did me wrong!

1st time trying sushi so I was skeptical on everything lol. Really didn’t know what to try but the chef behind the sushi bar was helping me out with different options. I ain’t gonna lie it was actually good. U will have to look at my pics to see what I actually got but each one I tried was delicious. Had a few other things from the buffet as well and they were all good but the garlic butter shrimp were probably my favorite. Also the hot pot was delicious as well, I had noodles with shrimp, fish, lobster and cabbage with the spicy broth very delicious. The peach tea in the covered cups was delicious as well. Waitresses were nice, place was semi crowded when I got there but was getting more and more packed as I was there. As suggest to go early. I will be going back

Seafood buffets are my weakness—having everything in one place. This restaurant did not disappoint me; the variety is enormous, and everything was very fresh. The oysters and snails were exquisite, and the sushi and sashimi were truly fresh and delicious. The service was very attentive, making me feel truly comfortable. It is absolutely worth the price.

A must-visit for seafood lovers! I recently dined at Umi Sushi & Seafood Buffet and was thoroughly impressed. The Seafood: The selection is massive. From snow crab legs and oysters to grilled lobster, everything tasted incredibly fresh. The salt and pepper shrimp was a personal favorite. Sushi Quality: Unlike many buffets, the sashimi here is high-grade. The salmon was buttery, and the rolls weren't overloaded with rice—perfectly balanced. Atmosphere: The restaurant is clean, modern, and spacious. Even though it was busy, the food stations were constantly replenished. Service: The staff was attentive, clearing plates quickly and keeping our water glasses full. Pro Tip: Try to arrive early for dinner to get the first pick of the premium seafood! Definitely worth the price.
